The Challenge of Transposition in Spain

Last Tuesday, May 28, the event “Temas clave de la nueva Directiva europea de eficiencia energética de edificios (EPBD). El reto de la transposición a España” was successfully held in Cádiz, focusing on the approval of the new Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).

The event began with an institutional welcome by Paula Vilches, Dean of COA Cádiz, who greeted the attendees. Greta Tresserra, Vice President of AuS, gave a presentation on the contents of the new version of the EPBD and how it will change our professional practice in the coming years. Licinio Alfaro, from ITeC, presented the Global Warming Potential (GWP), while Albert Cuchí, President of AuS, emphasized the importance of rehabilitation tools such as the Renovation Passport and the Digital Logbook. Jade Serra, board member of AuS, discussed the use of low-impact materials for a decarbonized architecture.

The event concluded with a round table where the speakers discussed the challenges and opportunities that the new EPBD presents for architects.
